Winter Gllitter Toe Party

We had a great glitter toe party last night. Thanks to all the girls that came out to Summer's party and braved the ten degree weather. Who said you cannot have pretty toes in the cold!

Silver Bells....

Not all skin tones can pull off this sparkly silver mix but these toes had the perfect match!

Christmas Red Toes

The popular color of the night was Christmas Red made with Santa Says gel and Fire Engine art glitter. The pictures really do not do it justice. It was bright, sparkly, and just right for the season!

See what I mean! :-)

Christmas Glitter

These acrylic nails were made with red and green art glitter topped with a simple little snowman sticker. Nothing elaborate....but fun!

Holiday Snowflakes

I just began my new job at Color My Nails salon and in the meantime have had some spare moments to do my own nails. On this set I mixed my own acrylic usuing Spruce art glitter and handpainted on the snowflakes.

OPI Absolute Makeover Pink

This product has been one of my favorite finds. It works so well to give the appearance of longer nail beds on people that may not have that great fortune as well as those that perhaps bite theirs or have peeling nails. I first glue my tips to the nails and then apply this OPI as high up as I want the nail bed to be. Then I go onto add my white tips and pull clear or pink over. People love how much longer their natural nails look with it!

Fimo Clay Nail Art

This is my very first experience with fimo clay. I am not so much interested in taking the time right now to do my own elaborate designs but rather am more interested in not over-paying for the simplest designs I can add to my nails quickly in my own time. I used translucent clay to make my ringed dots. I even managed to get a candy cane in there (patting self on back). It can only get better from here on out right.

Halloween Spider Webbed Nails

I did these spooky nails on myself. There is still much experimentation to be done in my last couple weeks of class. I learned to do these spiders in our nail art class out of black acrylic and painted on the legs and eyes. I used a dotting pen for the web. The glitter acrylic tips is my Teak colored art glitter mixed with clear powder. I actually have very damaged, short, and cracking nail beds from school so I lengthened them with OPI Makeover Pink. It made me look like I actually have nail beds. Very cool stuff!

Brittle cracking nails

My nails have taken a beating in school. It was not until my last month in class that someone mentioned we could simply coat our natural nails with clear polish and a layer of cuticle oil before letting the students practice on us. This information would have been helpful the first week of class. Regardless, here I am with very brittle and cracking nails. I have never lost so much of my natural nail nor experienced so much pain on my fingertips and am desperately trying to take action to keep what of my only 100 layers I have left in place.

I was initially advised to simply leave them all natural which quite frankly left them feeling too vulnerable and pained. I have researched multiple techniques for healing and tried many different options. Finally, I believe I have found some relief in simply soaking my fingertips in olive oil for 20 minute periods of time. I tried it at bedtime last night so I could allow the oil to absorb overnight. This morning my nails were significantly harder than they were just ten hours ago.

I am hopeful that through continued soakings with olive oil my nails will continue to regain their strength. In addition I will continue coating with a coating of my nail treatment polish and rubbing with glycerine lotion. If others have had great success with other treatments please feel free to share them.

Glitter Toe Party

Here's a picture of a few pretty toes at my first glitter toe party. It was a lot of fun. What a great way to gather friends and family together!

Mermaid Nails

I did glitter gel toes on my girlfriend using Light Elegance Blue Gumball gel with Mermaid art glitter. I created her matching acrylic for her tip set using the Mermaid and clear powder. They turned out super cute!

Free Hand Nail Art

Here are some simple samples of nail art I pieced together for the start of my collection. All of them were done with line brushes and art pens.
